Initial consultation

The surgeon discusses your concerns, examines you, and recommends the next step.

  • Review of your health history and available results
  • Physical examination based on the reason for your visit
  • Recommendation for monitoring, further tests, or surgery

Hernia surgery

The surgeon recommends hernia surgery based on the type of hernia, your symptoms, and your health.

  • Assessment of an inguinal, umbilical, or other hernia
  • Choice of open or laparoscopic surgery
  • A minimally invasive method when suitable for the findings

Gallbladder surgery

For gallbladder concerns, the surgeon reviews your symptoms and available tests.

  • Review of symptoms and available results, including ultrasound
  • Explanation of benefits, risks, and other treatment options
  • Laparoscopic gallbladder removal when suitable

Pre-operative assessment

A doctor sets the scope of the pre-operative assessment based on your health and planned operation.

  • Assessment by your GP or at Venova Clinic
  • Any additional tests required by the surgeon for the procedure
  • Instructions on how to prepare for the operation

Follow-up after surgery

A follow-up appointment takes place at Venova Clinic after the operation.

  • Review of healing and recovery
  • Instructions on movement, physical activity, and wound care
  • Further follow-up when recommended by the surgeon

No. You can book a hernia or gallbladder consultation directly. Bring any test results you already have.

What happens at the initial consultation?+
