Illustrative cardiology consultation and review of an ECG.

Cardiology

Assessment of heart rhythm, blood pressure and heart conditions. We can check options for a planned specialist consultation.

Heart and blood-pressure assessment

Cardiology focuses on heart conditions and their ongoing management. A consultation can help explain concerns about heart rhythm, blood pressure or reduced exercise tolerance.

During the visit, the doctor discusses symptoms, previous findings and treatment and performs a physical examination. They may recommend an ECG, echocardiogram or longer rhythm or blood-pressure monitoring. Results guide the next steps, any treatment changes and a follow-up plan.

OpenMedical coordinates the booking and tells you which medical reports to bring. We check the availability of recommended tests, preparation requirements, costs and payment arrangements before confirming the visit.

Frequently asked questions

About the consultation and planning your visit.

Does a normal ECG rule out a rhythm problem?+

Not always. A short ECG may miss occasional symptoms. Depending on their pattern, the doctor may recommend longer monitoring.

Is an echocardiogram the same as an ECG?+

No. An ECG records electrical activity; an echocardiogram uses ultrasound to image the heart. The tests complement each other rather than being interchangeable.

Will a Holter monitor be fitted at my first visit?+

This depends on the clinical need and device availability. Mention a Holter referral beforehand; fitting it on the same day is not guaranteed.

Should I bring information from my smartwatch?+

Yes. A record with the time and description of symptoms can help. It does not replace medical assessment or establish a diagnosis.

How do I book and what are the visit requirements?+

Send the reason for your visit and the patient’s age. Before confirming, we check availability, price, referral requirements and any insurance coverage.
