Physiotherapy exercise with a resistance band

Physiotherapy

Individual physiotherapy focused on the source of movement problems, restoring function, and returning safely to activity.

An active route back to better movement

The physiotherapist combines discussion, functional assessment, and targeted therapy. The aim is to understand what limits movement and build a plan that transfers safely into everyday life.

Physiotherapy may help with back, joint, muscle, or tendon pain, recovery after injury or surgery, and return to sport.

The plan adapts to the diagnosis, current load, and your response to treatment. It often includes home exercise and regular adjustments as you progress.

Initial assessment

The first visit is used to understand the problem and how it affects functional movement.

  • Discussion of symptoms, load, and goals
  • Assessment of posture, movement, and muscle coordination
  • Review of painful or restricted movement
  • Agreement on a realistic therapy plan

Targeted therapy

Methods are selected according to the findings and what you can safely tolerate.

  • Individual active exercise
  • Manual techniques when appropriate
  • Movement-pattern retraining
  • Advice for work, sport, and daily load

Return to activity

Progress is tracked against specific functional goals, not only short-term pain levels.

  • Gradual increase in load
  • Rehabilitation after injury or surgery
  • Prevention of recurring problems
  • Coordination with a doctor when further assessment is needed

Physiotherapy questions

Practical information before your first physiotherapy visit.

What happens at the first physiotherapy visit?+

The physiotherapist asks about your symptoms, health history, and goals, assesses movement, and explains the first steps. Treatment may begin during the same visit when safe to do so.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?+

Usually not for self-pay physiotherapy. Public-insurance coverage generally requires a medical prescription and the conditions of the relevant Czech insurer to be met.

What should I wear?+

Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement and assessment of the affected area. Bring any related medical reports and test results.

How many sessions will I need?+

This depends on the diagnosis, how long the problem has been present, your goals, and response to therapy. The physiotherapist adjusts the plan according to measurable progress.

Can OpenMedical coordinate physiotherapy in Prague?+

Yes. OpenMedical checks the available route, arranges an appointment at a partner clinic, and helps coordinate medical assessment when needed.
